About
Jade Core started as a group chat between three friends who kept sending each other screenshots of games nobody else had heard of. At some point we figured the notes we were trading were worth turning into something public, so we built this site and started writing them down properly.
We're independent. No studio tells us what to cover, and nobody buys a score. When we review a game, somebody on the team has actually finished the main loop or put enough hours in to know how it holds up past the first evening.,We pick games across every genre on purpose. A slick puzzle deserves the same attention as a sprawling RPG, and a tiny arcade title can be more fun than a huge strategy sim. We try things that get buzz, things that get ignored, and whatever readers send us.,Reviews here are opinions, not verdicts handed down from on high. We tell you what the game feels like in the hand, what annoyed us, and who it's for. If that lines up with how you play, great. If not, at least you'll know why we felt the way we did.
Markus Behrens — Markus has been editing games writing for over a decade and still plays something on his phone during every train ride. He covers strategy and RPGs when he isn't wrangling the rest of the team.
