Ashfall Saga
Ashfall Saga is the sort of RPG you don't expect to find on a phone. It opens with a quiet village and slowly widens into a map full of factions that actually react to what you do. Side with the miners early and the merchant guild closes doors on you later — small decisions ripple out in ways I didn't see coming.
Combat is turn-based and leans on positioning. Each party member has a stance that changes their skill set, and swapping stances mid-fight is the core puzzle. It took me a few battles to stop button-mashing and start planning, but once it clicked I was hooked.
The writing carries it. Dialogue has real personality, and the main antagonist isn't just evil for the sake of it. Battery drain is noticeable during long sessions, so I kept it for home play rather than commutes.
