Adventure
Hollow Tide
★★★★★ 4.5
Hollow Tide is a slow, atmospheric adventure. You wander flooded ruins, solve environmental puzzles and piece together what happened to a vanished coastal people. There's no combat — the tension comes from exploration and the occasional timed water current.
What stayed with me is the mood. The art uses a muted palette and the ambient sound does a lot of heavy lifting. Puzzles are logical and tied to the world: raise this gate, redirect that stream, and a new path opens.
It's a shortish game — maybe six hours — but it doesn't overstay its welcome. I played it with headphones late at night, which is exactly how I'd recommend it.
